WordPress Website Redesign: A Fresh Look Without Losing Your Google Rankings
Your site still works, but it looks old, loads slowly or brings fewer leads than it should. You want a new look. What you do not want is to lose the traffic you spent years building. I redesign WordPress sites on a private copy, keep every page Google already knows, and switch over only when everything is ready.
A redesign is not about following trends. It is about fixing what quietly costs you customers. If two or more of these sound familiar, it is time.
It looks dated
Visitors judge your business by your site in seconds. An old look makes a good business seem out of date.
It is hard to use on a phone
Most visitors come on a phone. Tiny text and buttons that are hard to tap send them away.
It is slow
If pages take more than a few seconds, many people leave before they read a word.
It does not bring leads
People visit, but few call or fill in the form. The path to contact you is not clear.
You cannot update it
Changing a price or a photo feels risky, so the site stays out of date.
It no longer matches your business
You added services, moved or grew, and the site still tells the old story.

How I redesign without losing your Google rankings
Many sites lose traffic after a redesign. Pages get new addresses, old content disappears, and Google has to start over. It is avoidable. This is the process I follow on every redesign.
01
Map every page Google knows
Before I change anything, I list every page on your site and every page that gets traffic from Google.
02
Keep the addresses that work
Pages that rank keep the same web address. If an address must change, I set up a permanent redirect from the old one.
03
Keep the content that ranks
The words Google likes stay. I improve the layout around them instead of throwing them away.
04
Build on a private copy
The new design is built on a staging copy that visitors and Google cannot see. Your current site keeps working the whole time.
05
Test before switching
I check every page, form, redirect and speed score on the copy before we go live.
06
Watch Google after launch
For the first weeks, I watch Search Console for errors and fix anything that slips through.
What is included in a redesign
Everything that makes a site work, in one price. No add ons.

Questions about WordPress website redesign
Will I lose my Google rankings after a redesign?
Not if it is done carefully. I keep the web addresses that rank, redirect any that change, keep your ranking content and check Search Console after launch. Small ups and downs for a few weeks are normal.
Will my site go down during the redesign?
No. I build the new design on a private copy. Your current site stays live until the moment we switch, which takes a few minutes.
How much does a website redesign cost?
Agencies often charge $2,000 to $10,000 or more. Freelancers often charge $500 to $3,000. My WordPress redesigns start at $499 for up to 5 pages, with a fixed quote for bigger sites.
Can you redesign a site that is not on WordPress?
In that case it is really a new website, because everything has to be rebuilt. My new website packages start at $699, and I still move your pages carefully to protect your rankings.
Can I keep my current theme or page builder?
Often, yes. If your theme is slow or no longer updated, I will suggest a better one and explain why before we start.
How long does a redesign take?
Most redesigns go live in about 14 days. Bigger sites take longer, and you get the timeline before we start.
